Alberta DeRush

Mrs. Alberta Louise DeRush, 74, of Salamanca, NY, formerly of Los Angeles, CA, died Saturday, September 2, 2017 at the Olean General Hospital, Olean, NY following a long illness.

Born December 16,1942 in Gowanda, NY, she was the daughter of the late Victor and Juanita Jackson Redeye. She was married for 37 years to Thomas J. DeRush, who predeceased her in 1991.

She was employed in Security for over 10 years with Boeing in Long Beach, CA, as well as being a homemaker.

Mrs. DeRush was an enrolled member of the Seneca Nation of Indians and the Bear Clan. She enjoyed spending time with her family and playing Bingo.

Surviving are: 3 daughters, Patricia Solano, Los Angeles, CA, Karen DeRush, Chino, CA, Diana DeRush, Salamanca, NY; a son, Phillip DeRush, CA; 3 grandchildren who reside in Salamanca, Michael, Kaylynn, Breena, 4 grandchildren who reside in California, Jesse, Courtney, Jennifer, Stacey, and 8 other grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by 2 brothers, Leon Redeye and Gordon Redeye.

There will be no visitation.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, September 11, 2017 at 1 p.m. in the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY.
