Alfred Caruso

Mr. Alfred Caruso, age 85, formerly of 2499 Carrollton Road, Killbuck, New York died Tuesday, May 12, 2009 at the home of his daughter, Carol Sodam in Fuquay Varina, North Carolina.

Born on June 10, 1923 in Salamanca, New York he was the son of the late Joseph and Filomena Caruso. He was married on June 19, 1948 to the former Antoinette Palmer who predeceased him on October 17, 2005.

Mr. Caruso was a veteran of U.S. Army serving during the Korean Conflict.

He was employed as a Welder at Clark Brothers in Olean, New York prior to his retirement.

Mr. Caruso was a member of St. Patrick’s Church, Limestone, New York. He enjoyed fishing and spending summers at Rushford Lake.

Surviving besides his wife are: a daughter, Carol (Robert) Sodan, Fuquay Varina, North Carolina; a son, Joseph (Terri) Caruso, Lakewood, New York; 4 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; a brother, Joseph (Hilda) Caruso, Niagara Falls, New York; a sister, Lucy Larocca, Hermitage, Pa.; several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a sister, Helen Frasier.

Friends may call at the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, New York on Tuesday, May 19, 2009 from 12:30 – 1:30 P.M. at which time funeral services will be held with Deacon Don Radlinski, of St. Patrick’s Church, Limestone, New York, officiating.

Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Salamanca, New York.

The family suggests memorials to Hospice of Wake County, 1300 Saints Mary’s Street, Raleigh , North Carolina 27605-1276.
