Allyson Day

Allyson “Ally” Day, 32, of Franklinville, NY died unexpectedly Sunday morning, November 14, 2021 at her parents’ home.

Born August 13, 1989 in Olean, NY, she was the daughter of Kenneth and Derah Black Day of Great Valley.

She was an enrolled member of the Seneca Nation of Indians and the Hawk Clan.

Ally was a graduate of Ellicottville High School, Class of 2007, earned her Bachelor Degree in Social Work from Keuka College in 2011, and had attended the University of Buffalo, working on her Masters Degree.

She had been employed at Katy’s Fly Inn and had previously worked at Gin Mill, Finnerty’s Taproom, and Balloons.

She loved being with her children and will be remembered for her laughter and her ability to make others laugh. She enjoyed playing volleyball and was an avid Buffalo Sabres and Buffalo Bills fan.

Surviving besides her parents are: a daughter, Rylee Bly; a son, Layne Bly, both of Great Valley, NY; a stepbrother, Randall (Nicole) Conklin, Falconer, NY; an aunt, Donna Abrams, Great Valley, NY; an uncle, Clair (Nancy) Black, Jimersontown, NY; a great-uncle, Clifton (Sherida) Barnes, Phoenix, AZ; several cousins.

She was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Rev. Wilbur and Maxine Black, and her paternal grandparents, Myrland and Loretta Day.

Friends may call at the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 from 3 – 6 p.m.

Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Thursday at 3 p.m. with Pastor Judy Gallegos of the Joy Community Church, Machias, NY officiating.

Burial will be in Hillside Haven Cemetery, Steamburg, NY.
