Anna Graczyk

Anna Graczyk, 83, of Great Valley, New York died Friday evening, February 19, 2016 at the Pines of Olean following a long illness.

Born on July 4, 1932 in Salamanca, New York she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Hannah Whalen Ward. She was married on May 25, 1957 in St. Patrick’s Church, Salamanca, New York to Franklin Graczyk who predeceased her on November 18, 2010.

Mrs. Graczyk was a homemaker. Prior to her marriage she had worked at Taylor’s Five & Dime Store in Ellicottville and she did in home child care for over 10 years.

She was a member of the former St. Patrick’s Church and Our Lady of Peace Parish in Salamanca, New York. She was a charter member of the Great Valley Firemen Ladies Auxiliary and the Ellicottville American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, she was an inspector for the Board of Elections in Great Valley for many years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed her dogs, music, and dancing.

Surviving are: a daughter, Eileen Hostuttler, Great Valley, New York; a son, Leo Graczyk, Sherman, New York; 5 grandchildren.

She was predeceased by 4 brothers, John Ward, Thomas Ward, William Ward, and James Ward; 1 sister, Katherine Ward.

Friends may call at the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, New York on Monday February 22, 2016 from 4-7 P.M

A prayer service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 10:30 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 A.M. in Our Lady of Peace Parish with the Rev. Peter Napierkowski, as celebrant.

Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Salamanca, New York.
