Charles Ervin Jr.

Charles L Ervin Jr., 78, of Salamanca, NY was surrounded by his family when he went to be with the Lord on February 9, 2024 following a brief illness. Born July 18, 1945 in Olean, NY he was the son of the late Charles Sr. and Jesse (Ruth) Brisbee Ervin. He was a graduate of Otto Eldred High School, Class of 1963. On October 15, 1966, he married his love, Anne Marie Carpenter, who predeceased him in 2008.

He was a proud veteran of the United States Army where he served in Germany.

Charles had been employed as a project estimator at the former Dresser Rand in Olean, NY for over 40 years, retiring in 2008. To those who had the honor of knowing him, Chuck was a kindhearted and beautiful soul who continually put others before himself and did all he could to help those in need. He lived his life simply and was not only a good man, but was the definition of what a good man should be.

He loved his family deeply and cherished his many friends. One of the most important individuals in the past 15 years of his life was his sweetheart Linda, with whom he had many wonderful adventures and shared memories too numerous to count.

Surviving are: three daughters, Melissa (Mark) Ervay, Ransomville, NY, Sherri Dunkelberger, Seminole, FL, Terra Rozler, Salamanca, NY; eight grandchildren, Ashley Walker, Nick (Lexie) Walker, Drew (Saida) Dunkelberger, Evan Dunkelberger, Morgan Rozler, Jacob Rozler, Ethan Rozler, Ann Marie Rozler and a brother, Howard Griffith, Bath, NY.
