Cheryl A. Redeye

Cheryl “Channy” Redeye, 62, of Salamanca, NY died Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at Buffalo General Hospital following a short illness.

Born June 5, 1959 in Salamanca, NY, she was the daughter of the late Clifford and Phoebe Oliverio Redeye.

She was an enrolled member of the Seneca Nation of Indians and of the Heron Clan.

Channy had been employed with the Seneca Nation of Indians as a nutritionist with the Seneca Arts & Learning Center for over 20 years.

She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, playing BINGO, and watching Lifetime movies.

Surviving are: a daughter, Nakida (Corey Haines) Redeye, Great Valley, NY; two sons, Travis Redeye, Jed Nickerson, both of Salamanca, NY; two granddaughters, Phoebe Redeye, Great Valley, NY, Mylena Redeye, Salamanca, NY; four grandsons, Derek Redeye, Creedence Redeye, both of Salamanca, NY, Brick Redeye, Orrick Redeye, both of Great Valley, NY; two sisters, Barbara (Dennis Frank) Redeye, Debra Redeye, both of Kill Buck, NY; three brothers, Clifford (Beverly) Redeye Jr, George Redeye, Kill Buck, NY, Douglas (Bobbie) Redeye, Salamanca, NY; her longtime companion, Joe Whitmer, Salamanca, NY; several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY on Monday, March 7, 2022 from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m.

Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with Elder Pete Haig of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness, officiating.

Burial will be in Horseshoe Cemetery, Carrollton, NY.
