Daniel Rockwell

Daniel C. Rockwell, 78, of Cuba, New York, died Saturday June 14, 2014 at the Buffalo VA Hospital, Buffalo, New York.

Born September 21, 1935 in Salamanca, New York, he was the son of the late Daniel H. and Ruth A. Hanson Rockwell. He was married to the former Yvonne Crispin, who predeceased him on April 15, 1982.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving at the U.S. Naval Submarine Base in New London, CT. He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal.

He had been employed as a year book photographer for Rappaport Studios in New York City and a portrait photographer for Geraldine Elsen in Norwich, Connecticut. He retired as a self-employed photographer after many years.

He loved to square and round dance. He also loved his dog, Jetta.

Surviving are: 3 sons, David Rockwell, Jamestown, NY, Daniel (Anne) Rockwell, Little Valley, NY, Dennis Rockwell, Salamanca, NY; a daughter, Deanna (Gary) White, Salamanca, NY; 12 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Janet (William) Boggess, Minden, OR.

He was predeceased by a daughter, Doreen Monica Rockwell.

There will be no visitation.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
