Mrs. Donna L. Phillips

Mrs. Donna L. Phillips, 69, of the Town of Salamanca died Friday evening as the result of a pedestrian/motor vehicle accident.

Born January 9, 1948 in Franklinville, NY, she was the daughter of the late Elwyn and Helen Tarbell Holmes. She was married on August 17, 1968 in Machias, NY to Mr. Michael Phillips, who died in the same accident.

She was a 1965 graduate of Ten Broeck Academy in Franklinville, NY.

Donna was employed as an Administrative Assistant at Prospect Elementary School in Salamanca for 40 years. She had recently been elected as the Salamanca Town Clerk and had served as Deputy for many years previously.

She was a member of Our Lady of Peace Parish, where she served as an Eucharistic Minister. Donna enjoyed travelling and had recently visited England with her sister. She enjoyed family gatherings, connecting with family and friends, her garden, and pets.

Surviving are: a son, Andy (Barbara) Phillips, Great Valley, NY; four grandchildren, Kevin (Sadie Bell) Link, Eldred, PA, Jacob (Monica) Link, Michael (Stephanie) Link, both of Salamanca, NY, Daniel Link, IL; six great-grandchildren; three sisters, including her twin sister, Daphne (Terry) Bruce, Diane Holmes, both of Rochester, NY, Dorothy Holmes, Penfield, NY; a brother, Dean (Susan) Holmes, Farmersville, NY; several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 from 4 – 7 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Our Lady of Peace Parish at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Peter Napierkowski, pastor, as celebrant.

Burial will be in Delevan Cemetery.
