Mr. Edward J. Harrington, age 86, of Pine Tree Road, Ellicottville, New York died Tuesday evening, June 12, 2012 at his home following a brief illness.

Born on Oct. 23, 1925 in Hunter, New York son of the late Sidney and Ada Ostrander Harrington. He was married on March 1, 1947 in Smithport, New York to the former Erma Wasson who predeceased him on July 23, 2005.

Mr. Harrington was a veteran of U.S. Army air Force serving with the 2514thBase Unit during WWII. He was awarded the American Campaign Medal, the Good Conduct Medal and the WWII Victory Medal.

He was employed as a machinist at Miller Trailers, Oneonta, New York and at Upstate Dairy as a Plant manager. Previously, he had retired as a Foreman from the Tudor Corporation in Watertown, New York.

Mr. Harrington enjoyed golfing, gardening, traveling, and camping.

Surviving are: 2 daughters, Shirley Feathers, Johnstown, PA, Elaine (Roland Hill) Kelsey, Ephrata, PA; 2 sons, Brad (Lynn) Harrington, Avery Avenue, Salamanca, New York, Timothy (Ann) Harrington, Dover, Delaware; 13 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews including Everett Harrington, Scio, New York, Edwin Harrington, North Dakota.

He was predeceased by a brother, Earl Harrington.

There will be no visitation.

Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Oneonta, New York at the convenience of the family.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O'Rourke & O'Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, New York.
