Esther Dolecki

Esther P. Dolecki, age 88, formerly of 21 Jackson Avenue, Salamanca, N Y died early Thursday, December 1, 2011 at The Absolut of Salamanca.

Born on January 7, 1923 in Salamanca, N Y she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Mary Ballecia Laieski.

Mrs. Dolecki retired in 1987 from Parkview Supermarket where she had worked for 22 years. She had previously worked for the former Icky Cookies of Olean, NY, the former Sheble & Woods Woolen Mills, Salamanca, NY, and Rathbun Molding Corp., Salamanca, NY.

She was a member of the former St. Patricks Church and AARP.

Surviving are: a daughter, Mrs. Dianne (Gene) Whipple, Little Valley, NY; a granddaughter, Denise Farner, Salamanca, NY; 2 grandsons, Jon (Heather) Farner, Washington State, Michael Farner, Salamanca, NY; 3 great grandchildren, Breanna Farner, Salamanca, NY, Ashley Fitzgerald, Anthony Fitzgerald, both of Washington State; a great-great granddaughter, Hailey Tate, Washington State; 1 brother, Leonard Laieski, Salamanca, NY; a sister, Mrs. Barbara (David) Dry, Salamanca, NY; several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by 2 sisters, Marguerite Shonitsky and Dolores McCartney.

Friends may call at the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY on Monday from 2-4 & 7- 9 PM.

A prayer service will be held on Tuesday morning at 10:00 AM in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Our lady of Peace Parish at 10:30 AM with Rev. Patrick Melfi, pastor, as celebrant.

Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Salamanca, NY.
