James O. Crane

James O. Crane, 73, of Bradford, PA, died Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at the Bradford Ecumenical Home.

Born June 26, 1945 in Rupert, ID, he was the son of the late John and Mary Badger Crane. He was married on May 28, 1966 in Salt Lake City, UT to the former Loretta Seneca, who survives.

Mr. Crane attended Brigham-Young University, Provo, UT, where he received his Bachelor’s and his Master’s Degree.

He was a veteran of the United States Army serving from 1962 – 1965 with the 101st Airborne Division. He was awarded the Parachutist Badge and the Sharpshooter Badge.

Mr. Crane was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and a former Bishop of the Cattaraugus branch.

Mr. Crane was employed as an Adjudication Officer for the Veterans’ Administration for over 20 years, retiring in Salt Lake City, UT.

He enjoyed open road traveling, camping, hunting, and the outdoors. He also was an avid reader.

Surviving besides his wife are: a daughter, Maria (David) Asay, Freeport, PA; five sons, Sean Crane, Ellicottville, NY, Seth Crane, Grand Island, NY, Aaron (Jill) Crane, Salamanca, NY, Jason Crane, Irving, NY, Jimmy (Angela) Crane, Salamanca; eight grandchildren; three sisters, two brothers; several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY on Friday, December 14, from 6 – 8pm.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 15 at 11:00am at the Irving branch of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints with Bishop David Asay officiating.

Burial will be at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- Day Saints, Irving, NY.
