Karen A. Schwartz, 60, of Ellicottville, NY died Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at home following a long illness.

Born October 4, 1959 in Jamestown, NY, she was the daughter of the late Richard A. and Barbara F. Fuller Schwartz.

She had been employed as a manager of the Silver Fox in Ellicottville, NY for over fifteen years. She also had been employed at the Ellicottville Brewing Company, Ellicottville, NY. She started her restaurant career at the Italian Fisherman in Bemus Point, NY.

Karen enjoyed keeping in touch with family. She was a people person who enjoyed meeting new acquaintances. She also enjoyed her home, especially her flower garden, and was an avid sailor, growing up on Chautauqua Lake where she raced as well as on Lake Erie. She sailed the Atlantic Ocean to the Caribbean with her late father.

Surviving are: two brothers, Kurt A. Schwartz, Bemus Point, NY, Karl (Lisa) Schwartz Ellicottville, NY; two nieces, Jessica (Travis) Wallace, Great Valley, NY, Julia (Ryan) Dunn, Washington State; a nephew, Samuel Schwartz, Ellicottville, NY; four great nieces, Nora and Emma Wallace, both of Great Valley, NY, Mia and Zoey Dunn, both of Washington State; two great nephews, Grant Wallace, Great Valley, NY, James Dunn, Washington State; two cousins, Pamela Bajorek, Charlotte, NC, Richard Schwartz, TN.

She was predeceased by a great niece, Amelia Wallace.

There will be no visitation.

A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, August 21, 2020 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 6360 Route 242, Ellicottville, NY with Rev. Daniel Buringrud officiating. Those wishing to, may view service on St. Paul's Lutheran Church's Facebook page.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be sent to The American Cancer Society 726 Exchange Street, Suite 815, Buffalo, NY 14221, or the Alzheimer’s Association 6215 Sheridan Drive, #100, Buffalo, NY 14221.
