Karen Cohanski Dry

Karen A. Cohanski Dry, 69, of Salamanca, NY died unexpectedly Saturday, October 2, 2021 at home.

Born June 16, 1952 in Rome, NY, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Sally Fisher Cohanski.

She was a graduate of Arch Bishop Walsh High School, Class of 1970. She earned her Bachelor of Science & Education Degree from St. Bonaventure University and her Masters of Education from SUNY Geneseo.

She had been employed as a Special Education Teacher at BOCES for over 25 years, retiring in 2018.

She enjoyed spending time with her friends and family and especially loved going to dinner with her two boys, and she loved her cat, Spaz. She was a member of the Olean Pentecostal Church.

Surviving are: two sons, Jason (Tonya) Dry, Great Valley, Joshua Dry, Salamanca; two sisters, Denise Scott, Olean, Barbara (Brian) Kolkowski, Mentor, OH; three nieces, Christian (Shane) Bowser, Christina Scott, both of Olean, Katie Kolkowski, Atlanta, GA; a nephew, Christopher Kolkowski, Little Rock, AR; great-nephew and -niece, Noah and Anna Bowser of Olean.

A private graveside service will be held at St. Bonaventure Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be sent to the Cattaraugus County SPCA, 2944 Route 16, Olean, NY 14760.
