Karen R. Ellis

Karen R. Ellis, 74, of the Allegany Territory died Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at the Buffalo General Hospital, Buffalo, NY.

Born May 20, 1943 in Buffalo, NY, she was the daughter of the late David Miller and Charlotte Gordon Miller. She was married for 56 years to Mr. Leonard Ellis, who survives.

She had been employed as a receptionist/clerk at High Banks Campground. She had previously worked at Weeklys Wholesale Bakeshop in Blasdell, NY and Fisher Price in East Aurora.

She was an enrolled member of the Seneca Nation of Indians, the Deer Clan. She was also a member of the Area Office of Aging, where she was co-chair, and was a champion Bingo player.

Surviving besides her husband are: two daughters, Kimberley (Brian) Kubiak, Salamanca, NY, Karen “Karrie” (Charlie) Skipper, Elma, NY; a son, Jon (Tammy) Lichy, Salamanca, NY; 16 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; a sister, Linda Miller; a brother, Brian (Darlene) Miller, both of Jimersontown, NY; several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a son, Jay Lichy, and a grandson, Neil Todaro, and a brother, Dana Miller.

Friends may call at the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY on Friday from 2 – 8 p.m.

Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Saturday at 10 a.m. with Rev. John Ingersoll, pastor of the Big Tree Wesleyan Church, Blasdell, NY, officiating.

Burial will be in Memorial Heights Cemetery, Jimersontown, NY.
