Leonard Biscup

Mr. Leonard R. "Lenny" Biscup, 82, of Route 353, Salamanca, New York died unexpectly Tuesday morning (July 29, 2008) shortly after being admitted to Olean General Hospital.

Born June 8, 1926 in Salamanca, New York he was the son of the late Raymond and Anna Zielinski Biscup. He was married on May 8, 1948 in St. Marys Church in Little Valley, New York to the former Jane Rider who survives.

Mr. Biscup was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during World War II.

He had owned and operated Len Biscup Disposal from 1954 until his retirement in 1988.

Mr. Biscup was a member of Our Lady of Peace (St. Patricks), and the American Legion Hughes-Skiba Post # 535, a former member of BPO Elks Lodge # 1025, Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge # 1002 and the Holy Cross Athletic Club, Veterans of Foreign Wars John Ahrens Post #5296, the Black Knights, and was an avid hunter & fisherman taking several trips to Canada, enjoyed horseshoes and had played in softball leagues

Surviving besides his wife are one son Jeffrey (Ann) Biscup, Little Valley, New York, one daughter Sandra (James) Miller, Great Valley, New York, six grandchildren, Maria Welka, Olean, NY, Andrew Biscup, Frewsburg, New York, Aaron Biscup, Kaleb Biscup, both of Little Valley, New York, Jennifer (Thomas) Heidrick, Derby, New York, Kristen White, Lackawanna, New York, two great-grandsons Javyn Welka, Jalethyn Miller, Olean, New York, four sisters Geraldine Courteau, Marie Vail, Alice Frank, all of Salamanca, New York Dorothy Rorick of Springville, New York several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Biscup was predeceased by a daughter Annemarie Biscup in 1975

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday (August 1, 2008) at 11:00 AM in Our Lady of Peace (St. Patricks)

Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Salamanca, New York Full military honors will be conducted by members of the American Legion Hughes-Skiba Post # 535.
