Maria Barreros

Maria Barreros, age 44, of Miami, Florida, died Tuesday, July 1st at her home following a sudden heart attack.

Born in Madrird, Spain on September 25, 1963, daughter of Mrs. Thomas (Teresa) O'Rourke of Bonita Springs, Florida and the late Jaime Barreros. She and her family had resided in the United States since 1971.

A graduate of Little Valley High School Class of 1981, she attended Syracuse University and Geneseo State University from 1981-1983.

As a member of the United States Air Force for 16 years, she spent the majority of her career flying as a load master with the U.S. Air Force Transportation Command. Since retiring from the Air Force, she has been employed by the U.S. Coast Guard in Miami, Florida.

Besides her mother, she is survived by a daughter, Lara, age 9, and a son, Michael, age 4, both residing in Miami, Florida. She is also survived by a sister, Yolanda Barreros Ahumada, who resides in Barcelona, Spain, an uncle, Enrique Barrera, Poverty Hill Road, Ellicottville, New York, and several cousins.

A memorial service will be held in the O'Rourke & O'Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River St., Salamanca, New York on Thursday, August 14, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Ronald Mierzwa, pastor of Holy Name of Mary Church, Ellicottville, New York, officiating.

A private burial will be held in Holy Cross Cemetery, Ellicottville, New York.
