Mary Anne Williams

Mrs. Mary Anne Stetz Williams, age 98, formerly of 327 Wildwood Avenue, Salamanca, New York died Thursday, November 1, 2012 at East Side Nursing Home, Warsaw, New York.

Born on August 13, 1914 in Oil City, PA, she was the daughter of the late Paul & Anna Saul Stetz. She was married in St. Bonaventure Church, Allegany, New York on June 30, 1934 to Mr. William H. Williams who predeceased her on January 12, 1995.

She attended St. Elizabeth's and St. Bonaventure Elementary Schools.

Mrs. Williams was a member of the former St. Patrick’s Church, Salamanca, NY. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, flowers, cooking, baking, and being with family, especially her grandchildren.

Surviving are: 2 sons, Richard (Judith) Williams, Troy, MT, Dr. James (Harriet) Williams, Pensacola, FL; 2 daughters, Judith Bryant, Perry, NY, Mary Oliver, Salamanca, NY; 1 brother, John (Joann) Stetz, Waterloo, NY; 1 sister, Ceil Pleakis, Allegany, NY; several grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Christy Williams Dirkes, 2 brothers, Michael Stetz and Joseph Stetz; 1 sister, Helen Freeman; sons-in-law, Ronald Bryant and Glenn Oliver.

Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Peace Parish on Saturday, November 10, at a time to be announced.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, New York.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Christy Williams Dirkes School Scholarship Fund, c/o Mrs. Richard Williams, P.O. Box 464, Troy, MT 59935.
