Mary Craig

Mrs. Mary Craig, age 75, of Broad Street, Salamanca, New York died Wednesday evening, May 13, 2015 at the Olean General Hospital following a long illness.

Born August 2, 1939 in Gowanda, New York, she was the daughter of the late Maurice and Juanita Kenjockety Cloud. She was married in Washington, DC to the late John Lee Craig, who predeceased her in 2010.

Mrs. Craig attended Bacone College in Oklahoma and Trinity College in Washington, DC.

She was employed with the United States Department of Education in Washington, DC for over twenty years.

She was a member of the former St. Matthew’s Church in Washington, DC. She was an avid reader and enjoyed bowling, playing Bingo. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving are: a daughter, Denise (Calvin King) Craig, Salamanca, NY; a son, Dale Craig, Salamanca, NY; three grandchildren, Crystal Laurent, Fredericksburg, VA, Pamela Craig, Salamanca, NY, Ashley King, Salamanca, NY; two great-grandchildren, Cheyenne and Caleb; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was predeceased by two brothers, Maurice Cloud and Robert Loft.

A memorial service will be held in the O'Rourke & O’Rourke Inc Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, New York on Sunday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Marvin Abrams, pastor of the Jimersontown Presbyterian Church, officiating.

Burial will be in Walker Methodist Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Blind Association, Susan G. Komen for the Cure, American Diabetes Association, or the donor’s choice.
