Ricky L. Ray

Mr. Ricky L. Ray, 59, of Salamanca, NY died Sunday morning, May 13, 2018 at home following a short illness.

Born September 19, 1958 in Salamanca, NY, he was the son of the late Ervin Mohr and Virginia (Lloyd) Ray John. He was married on October 9, 1999 to the former Theresa Haley, who survives.

He was employed as a Surveyor at Tri-Point in Bemus Point for 31 years prior to his retirement.

He was a member of Our Lady of Peace Parish, an enrolled member of the Seneca Nation of Indians, the Bear Clan, and the former Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #1002. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, birds, and ducks.

Surviving besides his wife are: three daughters, Amber (Thomas) Oldshield, Kill Buck, NY, Samantha Ray, Jordan Ray, both of Salamanca, NY; a brother, Brian (Cindy) Mohr, Salamanca, NY; several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by two brothers, Donald Shongo and David Shongo.

Friends may call at the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY on Thursday, May 17, 2018 from 2 – 7 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Our Lady of Peace Parish on Friday at 10 a.m. with Rev. Peter Napierkowski, pastor, as celebrant.

Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery, Salamanca, NY.
