Robert M. Skibniewski

Robert M. Skibniewski, 78, of Great Valley, NY passed away suddenly Thursday, July 30, 2026, at home.

Born March 10, 1948, in Buffalo, he was the son of the late Henry and Mary (Korda) Skibniewski. He was a graduate of JFK High School, in Cheektowaga, NY, Class of 1966. He was married on July 4, 1969, to the former Paulette A. Gutowski.

He was a veteran of the United States Army and employed as a foreman with the Town of Cheektowaga Sewer Maintenance Department for 40 years.

He enjoyed photography, woodworking and collecting stamps. He was a social member of the Great Valley Fire Company and member of the American Legion Post 531 in Little Valley, NY.

Surviving are his daughter, Andrea (Tom) Mattingly of Buffalo, NY; his son, Scott (Amanda) Skibniewski of Rocky Mount, NC; four grandchildren, Connor Mattingly, Maura Mattingly, Aubrey Skibniewski, and Cadence Skibniewski; a brother, Donald (Holly) Skibniewski of Getzville, NY.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Paulette, and his brother, James Skibniewski.

There will be no visitation at this time. A Celebration of Life will be held at the convenience of the family and will be announced.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke and O’Rourke Inc Funeral Home, 25 River St, Salamanca, NY.
