Sandra A. Formica

Sandra A. Formica, 81, of Lake Alfred, FL and Salamanca, NY passed away on April 1, 2022 at Advent Hospital, Orlando, FL following a short illness. Born August 6, 1940 in Salamanca, NY, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Theresa Puvel Morrison. She was married on December 3, 1970 to Paul Formica, who predeceased her in 2009. She was graduate of Salamanca High School, Class of 1958. Sandra had been employed with the Salamanca Central School District as a secretary for over 30 years, retiring in 1995. She was a member of Our Lady of Peace Parish, St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, the Polk County Sheriff’s Community Assistance Program, VFW Post 5296 (social member), Holy Cross Athletic Club, and the Salamanca Alumni Association. She was also a past member of the Salamanca Sports Booster Club and the Salamanca Lions Club. She enjoyed playing golf, socializing with friends and shopping. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, and was an avid Buffalo Bills fan. Sandra is survived by two sons, Dale (Mary Beth) Colton of Little Valley, NY, and Michael Colton of Fairport, NY. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Adam Colton of Great Valley, NY, Kaeli (William) McMaster of North Tonawanda, NY, Erin (Gabe Paone) Colton of Olean, NY, Matthew Colton of Fairport, NY, and Nicholas Colton of Fairport, NY; two great-grandchildren, Cora McMaster and Emerson McMaster of North Tonawanda, NY; a brother, David (Cindy) Morrison of Napoli, NY; a sister, Donna (Jay) Frost of Salamanca, NY, and several nieces and nephews. Sandra was predeceased by a son, Gregory Colton, a brother, Gary Morrison, and an infant sister Julie Morrison. Memorial visitation will be held at the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River St., Salamanca, NY on Friday, May 13, 2022 from 10-11:00 AM, at which time memorial services will be held with Fr. Patrick Melfi of Our Lady of Peace Parish officiating.
