Stephen Wallquist

Mr. Stephen Wallquist, age 51, of Lakewood, New York died Saturday evening, October 24, 2009 at his home following a short illness.

Born on June 14, 1958 in Salamanca, New York he was the son of P. Douglas Wallquist and the late Jeanne Barnhart Wallquist. He was married on September 3, 2002 to the former Connie Larson who survives.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

Mr. Wallquist was employed as the Head Chef at the Nic-l-inn in Steamburg, New York for 19 years retiring in the fall 2006 to care for his father.

He was a member of the Gold Prospector’s Club, he panned for gold in Alaska and North Carolina.

Surviving besides his wife and father are: a daughter, Rachael Larson, Lakewood, New York; a son, Colin Larson, Lakewood, New York.

There will be no visitation.

A graveside service will be held in Steamburg Cemetery, Steamburg, New York at the convenience of the family.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 river Street, Salamanca, New York.

Friends and family may attend a “Celebration of Life” on November 3, 2009 from 6-9 P.M. at the Nic-l-inn, Steamburg, New York.
