Terrance VanBuren

Mr. Terrance N. VanBuren, age 65, of School Street, Salamanca, New York died early Sunday morning, October 3, 2010 at Olean General Hospital, Olean, New York following a long illness.

Born on August 28, 1945 in Salamanca, New York he was the son of the late J. Howard and Genevieve Rhodes VanBuren.

Mr. VanBuren was employed as a custodian at the Salamanca District High School for over 20 years.

In his youth, he enjoyed playing softball as a pitcher for the Salamanca Softball League.

Surviving are: 2 sisters, Pat (Dan) Moore, Salamanca, New York, Sharon Story, Akron, Ohio; 2 brothers, Monte (Marcia) VanBuren, Salamanca, New York, John "Bunk" (Dorothy) Vanburen, Warrenton, North Carolina; several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received at the family home, 77 School Street, Salamanca, New York on Monday, October 11, 2010 from 5-7 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the American Diabetes Association or The Absolut of Salamanca.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O'Rourke & O'Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, New York.
