Theresa Metzler

Mrs. Theresa Marie Metzler, 77, of River Street, Salamanca, died peacefully surrounded by her family Thursday afternoon at her home.

Born July 8, 1929 in Salamanca, New York she was the daughter of the late Leo and Mary Gobala Wujastyk. She was married on Febuary 26, 1949 in Holy Cross Church to Mr. James Metzler who survives.

She will be remembered for her love of flowers, crocheting, delicious home cooked meals and hummingbirds.

Surviving besides her husband are four sons, James (Pam) Metzler, Rochester, New York, Daniel Metzler Westborough MA, Michael Metzler Atlanta, GA. John (Susan) Metzler, Salamanca, NY, four daughters Marilyn Metzler, Atlanta, GA, Maureen Metzler, Rochester, NY, Marie (John) Canning, Marietta, GA, Melissa Metzler, New York City, nine grandchildren, Melanie Metzler New York City, Eric Metzler, Paul Metzler, Megan Metzler, Adam Metzler, all of Rochester, New York, Laura Metzler, Matt Metzler, both of Salamanca, NY, Mara Canning, Madison Canning, Marietta, GA, one sister Anna Wujastyk, Salamanca, New York, several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Metzler was predeceased by a grandson Carl Lane Metzler, two brothers Stanley Wujastyk, Frank Wujastyk, one sister Florence Wujastyk.

A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at 10:00 AM in Holy Cross Church with the Rev Piotr Zaczynski pastor of Holy Cross/St. Patricks as celebrant.

Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Salamanca, New York
