Wanda Quattrone

Mrs. Wanda Quattrone, age 84, formerly of Washington Street, Salamanca, New York died Tuesday evening, April 13, 2010 at Heritage Village, Gerry, New York.

Born on September 10, 1925 in Red House, New York she was the daughter of the late Merton and Mae Riddle Burdick. She was married in Toccoa, GA on October 15, 1943 to Mr. Frank J. Quattrone who predeceased her on August 6, 1997.

Mrs. Quattrone owned and operated Wanda’s Beauty Shop for 45 years prior to her retirement.

She was a member of Our Lady of Peace Parish, Salamanca, New York, the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars John F. Ahrens Post #5296, a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion Hughes-Skiba Post #535. She was a great cook who was known for her lemon pies. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She was an avid bingo and card player.

Surviving are: a daughter, Marsha (Robert W.) Painter, Jamestown, New York; a grandson, Robert C. Painter, Ohio; twin great granddaughters, Alyssa and Morgan Painter, Ohio; several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by 2 sisters, Hazel Crist, Flossie Waite, 2 brothers, Howard Freeman and Vern Freeman.

Friends may call at the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, New York on Thursday from 7-9 P.M. and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M.

Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Saturday morning at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Patrick Melfi, pastor of Our Lady of Peace Parish, officiating.

Burial will be in Crawford Cemetery, Salamanca, New York.
