William Lisman

William E. Lisman, 88, of Salamanca, NY passed away Monday evening, October 31, 2022 at Bradford Regional Medical Center.

Born September 2, 1934 in Ransomville, NY, he was the son of the late Ellis and Mary Lisman. He was married in Salamanca to the former Alice Vail, who predeceased him in 2015.

Mr. Lisman was a veteran of the United States Navy serving from 1951 – 1958.

He had been employed with the Department of Transportation in Salamanca, NY for over 30 years.

Mr. Lisman served as President of the Salamanca Football Booster Club. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, hunting, fishing, and watching sports.

Surviving are: a daughter, Jackie Lisman, Olean, NY; three nieces, Janice Burnham, KY, Judy Harvey, Salamanca, NY, Joan Nesnick, Hinsdale, NY; two grandsons, Patrick (Ashley) Harvey, Jamestown, NY, Caleb (Shawna) Groff, Salamanca, NY; ten great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a stepdaughter, Phyllis Vecellio.

There will be no visitation.

A memorial service will be held at the Center Street Baptist Church, 443 Center Street, Salamanca, NY on Saturday, December 3, 2022 from 1 – 5pm with pastor Eric Hice officiating.
