Ann Easton

Ann Bjorn Thordahl Easton, age 83, formerly of 109 Clinton Street, Salamanca, New York died Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at The Absolut of Salamanca, New York.

Born August 25, 1932 in Buffalo, New York, she was the daughter of the late Niels and Johanne Bjorn Thordahl. She was married to Mr. James Easton, who predeceased her in 1988.

Mrs. Easton was a graduate of Gowanda High School.

She was employed at Allegany State Park for 20 years working as the Rental Office Manager. She had previously been employed as the Dress Manager for the former Tate’s Department Store in Salamanca, New York where she started out as a Seamstress.

Mrs. Easton was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Ellicottville, New York.

She was a member of the Salamanca Bridge Club, enjoyed needlepoint, sewing, and was an avid reader.

Ann was a dedicated mother, worked extremely hard while fighting a courageous battle with multiple sclerosis. She was a member of local MS groups and fought a good fight against difficult physical conditions.

Surviving are: a daughter, Dyann Easton-Brown, married to Alex in California; 2 sons, Daniel Easton, married to Anne in Great Valley, New York, James Easton, married to Pam in Menlo Park, California; 4 grandchildren, Ryan Easton- Brown, California, Thomas Easton, Great Valley, New York, Evan Easton and Emma Easton, both of Menlo Park, California.

In addition, Ann is survived by three brothers; Carl, Rochester, Eugene, North Carolina, Jimmy, California; two sisters, Joan, California and Edna, Gowanda. Two brothers, Lorne and Bill are deceased.

The Easton family is grateful to the Absolut staff in Salamanca for their endless care during Ann’s two year residency.

Friends may call at the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, New York on Saturday, June 11, 2016 from 10 a.m. – 12 noon, at which time funeral services will be held with Rev. Dan Buringrud, pastor of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, officiating.

Burial will be in Liberty Park Cemetery, Cattaraugus, New York.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Multiple Sclerosis Society National Western New York, 4245 Union Road, Ste. 108, Buffalo, New York 14225-5040.
