Benjamin F. Baker II

Benjamin F. Baker II, age 82, formerly of Machias, New York, died Monday, April 18, 2011, at the Highland Health Care Center, Wellsville, New York.

Born on October 22, 1928, in Humphrey, New York, he was the son of the late Benjamin and Gladys Baker. He was married on March 13, 1958, in Humphrey, New York, to the former Mary Frazier, who predeceased him on July 19, 1990.

Mr. Baker was a self-employed farmer in Machias, New York.

He enjoyed hunting.

Surviving are: three sons, Benjamin F. Baker III, of Colorado, Steven (Cheryl) Baker, of Chaffee, New York, Jeffery (Anna Secrist) Baker, of Franklinville, New York; two daughters, Teresa (John) Hopkins, Little Genesee, New York, and Rebecca (Mark) Secrist, of Elkhart, Indiana; one brother, Vernon (Shirley) Baker, of Franklinville, New York; two sisters, Isabel (Ernie) Preist, of Warsaw, New York, and Madaline Hartwell, Delevan, New York; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a son, Robert Baker; three brothers, Dumont Baker, Raymond Baker, Elton Baker; three sisters, Ella Baker, Bertha Reed, Marie Vaughn.

Friends may call at the O'Rourke & O'Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, New York, on Thursday, April 21, 2011, from 12:00-2:00 p.m.

There will be no services.

Burial will be in Maples Cemetery, Maples, New York.
