Elizabeth Parker

Mrs. Elizabeth Parker, age 84, of Salamanca, New York died Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at Pines Health and Rehab, Olean, New York.

Born September 14, 1929 in Olean, New York daughter of the late Paul and Catherine McGurn Halloran. She was married on November 30, 1957 in St. Patricks Church, Salamanca, New York to Mr. Charles A. Parker Jr. who predeceased her on June 2, 2004.

Mrs. Parker was employed as a receptionist at the former Fancher Furniture Company and the former Bradner Department Store.

She was a member of Our Lady of Peace Parish, a member of the Quadays for over 20 years, and a charter member of Xi Beta Upsilon Chapter of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She was a former member of the Ladies Auxilary of the Salamanca American Legion Hughes-Skiba Post #535. She was also an Election Inspector for the Cattaraugus County Board of Elections for 35 years.

Surviving are: are: 3 daughters, Mrs. Mary Ellen Bek, Upper State Park Avenue, Salamanca, New York, Mrs. Maureen (Bruce) Mack, Busti, New York, Marcia Parker (Mike Madison), Celoron, New York; 4 grandsons, Justin Bek, Salamanca, NY, Aaron Madison, Celoron, NY, Matthew Mack, Busti, NY, and Kyle Mack, Busti, NY; 3 sisters, Patricia Halloran, Salamanca, New York, Catherine Lewis, Kane, PA, Mrs. Deanna (James) Eck, Kane, PA; several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by 1 brother, Donald Halloran and 1 son-in-law, Lawrence Bek.

Memorial visitation will be held in the O'Rourke & O'Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, New York on Monday, April 14, 2014 from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. at which time memorial services will be held with Deacon Michael Anderson of Our Lady of Peace Parish, officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society, 101 John J. Audubon Parkway, Amherst, New York, 14228-1198 and the Alzheimer's Association of WNY, 2805 Wehrle Dr., Ste. 6, Williamsville, New York 14221-7380.
