Ernest Eddy

Mr. Ernest "Squeek" Eddy, age 85, of Salamanca, New York Sunday evening, April 5, 2015 at the home of his daughter, Carol Kolstee, in Warren, PA.

Born on November 1, 1929 in Salamanca, New York, he was the son of the late Harry & Clara Butt Eddy.

He was a veteran of the United States Navy.

Mr. Eddy had been employed at the former Fancher Furniture Company in Salamanca, New York.

Squeek enjoyed the great outdoors, fishing, camping, hunting, and having a good barbeque. He especially enjoyed lending a helping had to all his family and friends.

Surviving are: 2 daughters, Carol Kolstee, Warren, PA, Beverly Eddy, Salamanca, New York; 15 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Rae L. Eddy, Salamanca, New York; several nieces and nephews; many great nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by 2 daughters, Theresa Giancotti , Candie Whitney, a granddaughter, 4 brothers, Thomas Eddy, James Eddy, Harry Eddy, Herman Eddy, and a sister, Ruth Eddy Nosal, a brother-in-law, Steve Nosal, 2 nieces, Rosemarie Eddy Zolner and Barbara Eddy Morrison .

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, New York.

Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Salamanca, New York.

A graveside memorial service will be held on Friday morning at 10:30 a.m. in Calvary Cemetery with Rev. Patrick Melfi of Our Lady of Peace Parish officiating..

Full military honors will be conducted by members of the American Legion Hughes-Skiba Post #535 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars John F. Ahrens Post #5296.
