Georgeann Farnham

Georgeann Farnham, age 79, of 32 Hoy Street, Salamanca, New York, died Friday, September 6, 2013 at the Bradford Regional Medical Center, Bradford, Pennsylvania, following a brief illness.

Born October 10, 1934 in Cattaraugus, New York, she was the daughter of the late George and Grace Schultz Dawson. She was married in St. Mary's Church, Little Valley, New York on June 23, 1956 to Mr. Clarence Farnham who predeceased her on April 2, 1999.

She had been employed as a nurse at the former Gowanda Psychiatric Center, a teacher at the former St. Patrick's Elementary School, and retired from Bush Industries after 22 years of employment. While employed at Bush, she also was a school bus driver for the Little Valley School System.

She was a member of the Healing Reigns Fellowship, in Salamanca, NY, volunteered for Head Start from 1995 through 1999, and was a former den mother for Brownies and Girl Scouts. While leading her troops on a 60 mile hike, they were stopped by a tornado that hit in Conewango, NY. She enjoyed her three trips she took to Schweinfurt, Germany.

Surviving are: 3 sons, Peter (Blanche) Farnham, Salamanca, NY, Richard Farnham, Salamanca, NY, and Christopher (Penny) Farnham, Virginia; 4 daughters, Gerianne (Hassan) Boghdadi, Salamanca, NY, Teresa Farnham, Brocton, NY, Tammie Brown, Cattaraugus, NY, and Danielle (John) Locicero, El Paso, TX; 33 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a son, Gary Lee Brown, Jr., two brothers, James Dawson and Robert Dawson, and one sister, Jerry Cassavoy.

There will be no visitation.

A memorial service will be held at the Anchor of Hope Christian Church in Salamanca, New York on Thursday, October 10, 2013. at 11 a.m.
