Glenn A. Conklin

Glenn A. Conklin, age 83, of Chestnut Street, Salamanca, New York, formerly of Lincoln Avenue, Salamanca, New York, died Friday afternoon, August 23, 2013 at Olean General Hospital, Olean, New York following a short illness.

Born February 4, 1930 in Tidioute, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Glenn and Grace Bowles Conklin.

He had been a self-employed timber contractor and had worked at Empire Woods Bat Mill for many years.

Glenn was a member of the American Legion Hughes-Skiba Post #535 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars John F. Ahrens Post #5296.

He enjoyed coin collecting and watching NASCAR racing and football.

Surviving are: 2 daughters, Lisa McDonald, Falconer, NY, Sheila (Scott) Nations, Imperial, MO; 1 son, Christopher Conklin, Jamestown, NY; their mother, Barbara Daniels Conklin, Falconer, NY; 3 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers, Clair (Betty) Conklin, Salamanca, NY, Wayne (Kathryn) Conklin, Salamanca, NY, Norman (Sally) Conklin, Spring Creek, PA; 4 sisters, Lucy Kennedy, Plano, TX, Marie (Ron) Selig, Phoenix, AZ, Joyce Beals, FL, Donna (Doug) Juhola, Littleton, CO; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was predeceased by a son, Glenn Conklin III, 2 sisters, Mildred Conklin, Delores Lindsay and 2 brothers, Marshall Conklin, Roy Conklin.

There will be no visitation or services.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O'Rourke & O'Rourke Inc Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, New York.
