Lloyd L. Frank

Lloyd L. Frank, age 66, of Limestone, NY, died Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at Hamot Medical Center, Erie, PA following a short illness.

Born December 17, 1946 in Salamanca, NY, he was the son of the late Robert and Violet Westfall Frank. He was married on April, 11 1970 in the Holy Name of Mary Church, Ellicottville, NY, to the former Betsy Slater, who survives.

He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving with 7101 as a Jet Mechanic. He enlisted in the Air Force in September 1965 and volunteered to serve in Vietnam. From 1966-1967, he was stationed at the Phan Rang Air Force Base in Vietnam. From 1967-1969, he was stationed at the Weisbauden Air Force Base in Germany. He retired from active duty in September of 1969, when he was serving at MCGUIRE Air Force Base. He then joined the Air Force Reserves, serving as a Staff Sergeant at the Niagara Falls Air Base.

Lloyd was employed as a Jet Engine Mechanic at the Niagara Falls Air Force Base, Niagara Falls, NY. He had previously been employed at the Loblaws Grocery Store and the Kendall Refinery in Bradford, PA.

He was a member of the NRA, the American Legion Post #1560 in Limestone, NY, the Limestone Sportsman's Club, the Pine Archers Country Club, and was on the Limestone Planning Board. He had previously coached youth baseball and was a high school baseball coach at Bradford High School. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and golfer and a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

Surviving besides his wife are: 3 sons, Matt (Karen) Frank, Bradford, PA, Mark (Ivett) Frank, DeKalb, IL, Andy Frank, Allentown, PA; 4 grandchildren, Emma Frank, Bradford, PA, Akemi Frank, Naomi Frank, and Nathan Frank, DeKalb, IL; 1 sister, Connie (Victor) Bierfeldt, Limestone, NY; several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the O'Rourke & O'Rourke Inc Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY on Sunday, August 11, 2013 from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m.

Funeral services will be held in the funeral home Monday, August 12, 2013 at 11 a.m.

Burial will be in the Veteran's Section of Mt. View Cemetery, Olean, NY.

Full Military Honors will be conducted by members of the American Legion Hughes-Skiba Post #535 and Veterans of Foreign Wars John F. Ahrens Post #5296.
