!Loren "Slim" Lounsbury

Mr. Loren E. "Slim" Lounsbury, age 86, of Sullivan Street, Salamanca, New York died early Saturday evening, March 10, 2007 at the Waters of Salamanca following a long illness.

Born on October 27, 1920 in Franlinville, New York he was the son of the late Lyman and Ruth Lounsbury. Mr. Lounsbury was married in 1987 to the former Sharon Harmon who survives. He was predeceased b y his first wife Catherin Hoffman Lounsbury in 1978, and his second wife, Zella McCloud Lounsbury in 1984.

Mr. Lounsbury was employed by Cattaraugus County Highway Department in Franklinville for over 32 years retiring in 1978.

He was a social member of the American Legion Hughes-Skiba Post #535, the Holy Cross Athletic Club, and the former Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #1002. He enjoyed his garden, his dog, and especially spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivng besides his wife are: 2 daughters, Mary (James) Sheehan, Machias, New York, Bonnie (Steve) Andrews, Delevan, New York; a son, Francis (Malinda) Lounsbury, Machias, New York; 2 step daughters, Bethany (Kyle) Inabinett, Karen Hubbard, both of Townawanda, New York; 7 grandchildren; 6 step grandchildren; 3 great granchildren; 2 sisters, Rosie Schuppenhauer, Myrtle (Felix) Duhan, both of Great Valley, New York.

He was predeceased by a sister, Elanor Starks, 2 brothers, Kenneth "Jack" Lounsbury, and Richard "Pete" Lounsbury.

Friends may call at the O'Rourke & O'Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, New York today from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M.

Fuenral services will be held on Tuesday morning at 11:00 A.M. in the funeral home with Elder Peter Haig of the Kingom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Salamanca, New York assisted by Rev. John Asqueth, of Franklinville, New York.

Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Machias, New York.
