A Celebration of Mary Granger's Life

Mary L. Granger

Mary L. Granger, age 80, of Salamanca, New York died Sunday morning, January 27, 2013 at Buffalo General Hospital, Buffalo, New York.

Born December 26, 1932 in Kane, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Russell and Mary Reed Anderson.

Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a Medical Secretary at Dr. Kothari's office in Olean, NY. She had been previously employed as the Manager of Medical Records, a lab technician and a Certified Medical Records Transcriptionist A.R.T. at the former Salamanca District Hospital.

Ms. Granger was a member of the United Congregational Methodist Church, where she was the organist, Order of the Eastern Star Mizpah Chapter 162 in Salamanca, NY. She enjoyed mowing her lawn with her John Deere and took great pride in maintaining her property.

Surviving are: 2 sons, Dale Granger, Roselle, IL, Russell (Lari) Granger, Hickory, NC; a daughter, Wendy (Jay) Jewell, Elizabethtown, PA; 4 grandchildren, C.J. Jewell, Collinswood, NJ, Lucas Jewell, Elizabethtown, PA, Erica (Rick) Heipertz, Silver Springs, MD, Mitchell Granger, Hickory, NC; 1 great-granddaughter, Ella Heipertz, Silver Springs, MD.

A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at 11a.m. in the United Congregational Methodist Church, Salamanca, NY, with Rev. Willis Webb officiating.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O'Rourke & O'Rourke Inc Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Salamanca Historical Society, 125 Main Street, Salamanca, NY 14779.
