Norma Grochowina

Norma Grochowina, age 82, of Center Street Extension, Salamanca, New York passed away Friday (April 17, 2009) at Olean General Hospital following a long illness. She was a lifelong resident of Killbuck and Salamanca, New York.

Born on May 24, 1926 in Olean, New York she was the daughter of the late Fredlyn and Margaret Kibbey Rickey. She was married to Mr. Max Quigley who predeceased her on December 16, 1977. She later married Mr. Stanley Grochowina who predeceased her on June 27, 1990.

Mrs. Grochowina was employed with the Fancher Furniture Company for over 12 years. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 0535 and the Town of Salamanca and Great Valley Senior Citizens League.

Surviving are: a daughter, Sharon (Tom) Tomsick, Clinton Street, Salamanca, New York; grandchildren, Allen (Molly) Tomsick, Hungry Hollow, Great Valley, NY, Mike (Shannon) Tomsick, Rt. 242, Little Valley, NY, Amber (Doug Zolner) Wildwood Ave. Salamanca, NY; one son, Lawrence (Margie) Quigley, East State Street, Salamanca, New York; grandchildren, Amanda (Wiley) Denney, Belleville, Fl., Collin (Angel) Quigley, Academy Street, Salamanca, NY, Grant (Lori) Quigley, Prospect Ave., Salamanca, NY, Matthew Quigely, East State Street, Salamanca, New York: one step son, Stanley (Janet) Grochowina, Birch Street, Salamanca, NY; grandchildren, Stefiny Grochowina, Emily Grochowina, and Molly Grochowina all of Salamanca, New York;18 great grandchilren; a great grandson Brant Tomsick.

Predeceased by one brother, Orman M. Rickey and a grandson Aaron Quigley.

Friends may call at the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, New York on Sunday (April 19, 2009) from 2-4 & 7-9 P.M.

Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Monday (April 20, 2009) at 11:00 A.M. with rev. Don Acker of the House of Prayer officiating.

Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery, Salamanca, New York.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to the Donor’s Choice.
