Allen R. Norton

Allen R. Norton, 81, of Allegany, NY died Monday morning, June 15, 2026 at the Absolut Care of Allegany following a long illness.

Born June 13, 1945, in Great Valley, NY, he was the son of the late Ryan and Eileen Button Norton. He was married in Great Valley, NY to the former Ruth Backus Westfall, who survives.

He was a graduate of Ellicottville High School, Class of 1964.

Allen had been employed as a model maker and draftsman with AVM Signore in Ellicottville, NY for over 40 years, retiring in 2006.

He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and target shooting, and was an avid model train builder. He was a member of the Obi Community Church, Cuba, NY.

Surviving besides his wife are: two sons, Courtney “Cory” (Amber) Norton, NC, Eric Norton, India; three grandchildren; two sisters, Gay Fitzpatrick, Great Valley, NY, Ann (Joe) Tascone, Utica, NY; several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by two sisters, Nan Ullman and Kathy Norton, and a brother, Donn Norton.

There will be no visitation.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the convenience of the family and will be announced.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY.
