Stephen Hill

Stephen Hill, 75, of Ragley, LA died Friday morning, September 19, 2025 at the home of his daughter in Brocton, NY following a short illness.

Born June 23, 1950 in Salamanca, NY, he was the son of the late James and Dolores Ambuske Hill. He was married May 30, 1970 to the former Deanna Bromley , who predeceased him in 2023.

Steve attended Salamanca High School and earned his GED.

He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in Germany.

He had been employed with Delta Downs & Casino Race Track for over 15 years and had previously worked for Bush Industries as a machine operator.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting and camping. He also was an avid Buffalo Bills fan.

Surviving are: two daughters, Tammy (Bradley) Burch, Brocton, NY, Stacy (Robert) Fox, Franklinville, NY; a son, Brian Hill, Radley, LA; twelve grandchildren, Heather (Alex LaFleur) Miller, Sulphur, LA, Daniel Larson, Dickey, ND, Dennis Fox, Nicole Fox, Alex Burch, Rebecca Burch, all of NY, Derek Fox, Kaylee Fox, both of Franklinville, NY, Brian Hill Jr., Cordell Hill, Dominick Hill, all of Salamanca, NY, Kaiden Hill, Singer, LA; seven great-grandchildren, Haleigh Miller, Karalyn Miller, Layla Miller, Gwenyth LaFleur, Aaric LaFleur, all of Sulphur, LA, Colt Larson, Boe Larson, Brody Larson, all of Dickey, ND; three sisters, Kathy (Harold) Spengler, Randolph, NY, Marcia Wass, Salamanca, NY, Lorre Vassar, Salamanca, NY; five brothers, Jack Hill, Kevin (Marcia) Hill, Ronald (Malesia) Hill, Denny Hill, Mark (Marcia) Hill, all of Salamanca, NY; several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a sister, Karen Kahm, and two brothers, Michael Hill and infant Daniel Hill.

There will be no visitation.

A Celebration of Life for both Stephen and Deanna will be held at the Holy Cross Athletic Club on Friday, September 26, 2025 from 1 – 4 p.m.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY.
